They have the same characteristics as classic Floating Anchor nuts, the only difference being the absence of Cadmium (Free of Cadmium).

The use of cadmium coatings in the EU is restricted to:

• Items and components for use in the aerospace, aviation, mining, offshore, and nuclear sectors requiring high safety standards, as well as in road safety devices and agricultural, vehicular, and marine equipment, electrical contacts in any sector, where necessary to ensure the required reliability of the apparatus on which they are installed;
• Under European legislation on ELV (End of Life Vehicles), WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), cadmium is no longer restricted to 0.01% by weight of any vehicle and electronic material or coating, with exemptions for aircraft and military use.
